Shoshone County Sheriff on 30-day medical leave

WALLACE — Shoshone County Sheriff Holly Lindsey has taken a leave of absence, according to a release from the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office.
Undersheriff Lance Stutzke posted the following message on the SCSO Facebook page Sunday.
“Sheriff Holly Lindsey is currently on a 30-day medical leave, until approximately July 20th. This was a sudden and unexpected medical leave, but we fully anticipate a healthy return to duties as sheriff at that time.”
Privacy laws prevent further information from being released regarding Lindsey’s medical leave, which began last month.
In the interim, Stutzke assumed Lindsey’s duties and said service levels should remain the same.
Lindsey, who has been with the SCSO for over 20 years, was first appointed to the office of sheriff for Shoshone County in December 2022, succeeding former Sheriff Mike Gunderson. After fulfilling the remainder of Gunderson’s term, she was reelected to the office in November.
