LEGION BASEBALL: Brennan powers Northern Lakes past Coeur d'Alene

SPIRIT LAKE — Ryker Brennan hit a two-run single in the bottom of the second inning, then followed with another two-run single in the third inning for the Northern Lakes Mountaineers in an 8-1 win over the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen in a Class A North Idaho League game at John Shaffer Field on Tuesday.
Brennan also struck out five in 2.2 innings of relief for Northern Lakes (23-4, 11-0 NIL).
Logan Strimback had an RBI single in the top of the fifth inning for Coeur d’Alene (14-16-2, 4-5), which plays a doubleheader at Moscow on Sunday.
Northern Lakes competes in the Missoula Mavericks Invitational starting Thursday against the Bitterroot Bucs at 10 a.m. PDT.
