The Glacier Twins had a busy Independence Day weekend, playing five games in three days and picking up a pair of wins to bring their season record to 4-20-1.

The weekend started on a high note Thursday with a dominant performance from Dawson Juntunen, who tossed a complete-game no-hitter to lead Glacier past the Expos 17U. Juntunen struck out nine and walked four over seven innings, while Kiernan RK went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double. Trenton Derosa added an RBI in the win.

Later that day, Glacier played Coeur d’Alene to a 4-4 tie. Nolan Amerman led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance, including a triple and an RBI. Treyson Murphy pitched five innings, allowing four earned runs while striking out four.

On Friday, Glacier held off Change Up for a 5-4 victory. A four-run third inning gave the Twins enough cushion to hang on, with Amerman, Derosa, and Reed Boyer each driving in runs. Derek Juntunen earned the win on the mound, striking out five over five and a third innings.

Glacier nearly made it two wins in a row Friday, but fell just short in a 4-3 loss to Multi-Sport. Despite trailing early, the Twins rallied with a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth, but couldn’t complete the comeback. Amerman had a big day again, going 2-for-4 with a double and triple, while Keaton Simpach added two hits.

Saturday’s lone game saw Glacier fall to Northern Lakes, 11-3.

Defensive miscues hurt the Twins, who committed five errors in the loss. Offensively, Amerman continued his hot streak with two more hits, including a double and an RBI. Derosa and Juntunen also drove in runs.
