NIC radiography tech graduates pass national exam
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 months, 2 weeks AGO
All eight recent graduates of North Idaho College’s Radiography Technology Program aced the national board exam on their first try, far surpassing the 2024 national average pass rate of 79%.
Six of those graduates scored in the 99th percentile or higher on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam, placing them among the top radiography students in the nation.
All eight graduates have found employment, primarily at local hospitals such as Kootenai Health, Bonner General Health, Northwest Specialty Hospital and Newport Hospital and Health Services.
“What truly sets us apart is how our graduates perform year after year,” said Matthew Nolan, radiography program director. “We once again crushed the national averages.
“This milestone speaks volumes about the commitment of our students, the expertise of our faculty and the hands-on mentorship provided by our clinical partners. Seeing each student cross the finish line with confidence is the greatest reward.”
NIC graduates who passed the exam included: T.J. Anderson of Libby, Mont., Charis Kearbey of Coeur d’Alene, Kendra Newman of Rathdrum, Theo Ritz-Schubert of Athol, Angel Robinson of Post Falls, Courtney Saccomanno of Hayden, Kaylee Sherman of Rathdrum and J.P. Smithson of Porthill.
NIC’s program that features a selective admissions process blends cutting-edge classroom instruction with real-world clinical rotations, guiding students to earn their Associate of Applied Science degree with eligibility for AART certification.
The program admits up to 10 students each year.
