COLUMBIA BASIN — Don’t let the hot weather put you off; there’s still plenty to do both indoors and out. Here are a few things to check out this week:  


July 11 


Together in Health 

Join Columbia Basin Hospital in celebrating 75 years of quality health care in Ephrata. Free barbecue, tours, teddy bear clinic and more. 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at Columbia Basin Hospital, 200 Nat Washington Way, Ephrata. Info: 509-717-5203. 


Mihail Kivachitsky: ‘Balance’ 

Gallery opening for artist Mihail Kivachitsky. Kivachitsky has been working with themes of balance and visible and invisible harmony since 1993. He explains his work as having a metaphysical basis that touches on the divine. The exhibit runs through Aug. 9. Opening reception 4-7 p.m. at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center, 401 S. Summer Concert Series: Petty Thief

July 11-12 


Summerfest

July 12 


Summer Market

Rocky Ford Band

July 13 


Ciao Bella Sip and Paint 

Create a beautiful painting while enjoying the view of Moses Lake. All supplies are included to create including walk-through in-person teaching. Great for beginners. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend or make a friend. Snacks and wine will be available for separate purchase on the day of the event. Sensory Activity Hour

July 16 


Create & Cackle  

Do you like to make stuff? Do you have a project unfinished? Want to just hang out and finish a project? Just drop in, have a drink and a snack and create. Knitting, drawing, sewing, crocheting, perler beading, coloring, painting, origami or basket-weaving – the only limit is what you bring. Friends of the Moses Lake Library Book Sale

A Session for Priorities 

Public meeting for Moses Lake residents to take an honest look at substance use in Moses Lake – what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what we can do about it. We’ll walk through surprising local data, talk through root causes like trauma, access, and community connection, and then work together to define the next priorities for prevention in our town. Ray Glover

Summer Concert Series: Una Vez Mas

Christmas in July 

Who says you have to wait until December for holiday cheer? Join the Moses Lake Farmers Market for a jolly good time.  Bring the kids and a camera for a photo op at the Summer Santa photo booth.  Holiday music to keep your spirits bright as well as farm-fresh produce and artisan vendors. 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at McCosh Park, 401 SW. Live music: Soulcem Acoustic Duo 

Soulcem Acoustic Duo are unique in their instrumentation, including lead vocals, harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, electric bass and percussion all at once to create a sound akin to that of a much larger ensemble. The driving bass and percussion bring energy to any event and allow the duo to go from quiet background music to a full-on party band in an instant. 6 p.m. at Camas Cove Cellars, 911 Camas Place, Moses Lake.
