After nearly a century of silence, live performance is returning to the historic stage of the Rex Theater in downtown Bonners Ferry, and the community is invited to be part of the milestone.

The Rex Theater will host two live events this month, marking the first time in 90 years that the stage will feature live theatrical and musical performances.

The first event is the children’s stage play “Laura Ingalls Wilder: Voice of the Prairie,” presented as part of the Rex Theater Children’s Program. The play opens Friday, July 11, at 7 p.m., with additional performances on Saturday, July 12, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 13, at 2 p.m.

General admission is $12. Tickets are available online or at the door. Doors open one hour before showtime.

The following week is a live music event featuring the Carpathian Pacific Trio, a unique ensemble combining vocals, clarinet, violin and accordion. The performance takes place Thursday, July 17, at 7 p.m. and also marks the first live band to grace the Rex stage in 90 years.

Tickets for the Carpathian Pacific Trio are $12 and can be purchased online or at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m.
