Evon Claire Janikowski (née Bridges) 1938 – 2025

Evon Claire Janikowski, 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Born in Santa Paula, Calif., Evon was the daughter of Insley William Bridges and Shirley D. Mayfield. She was known for her adventurous spirit, her deep love for family and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Evon was married to the love of her life, Donald E. Janikowski, for 35 wonderful years until his passing in December 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Peters, and husband Kim Peters; and her son, Mark Seath, and wife Tasha Seath. She was a proud and loving grandmother to: Shelly Kniss, Eric Peters, Britni Sternberg, Brea Gardner and Briley Seath; and a great-grandmother to nine cherished great-grandchildren.

Evon had a deep love for the outdoors. Her adventurous soul led her to hike the rugged John Muir Trail in the Sierra Nevada, an experience she treasured. Later in life, she discovered a passion for dog agility competitions, where she and her beloved Shelties earned numerous awards together.

Evon showed unconditional love to everyone she knew. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a dear friend to many. Her faith guided her life, and she found joy in sharing the love of Christ with others.

Her warmth, strength, and loving heart will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2025, at Yates Funeral Coeur d’Alene Chapel Services (744 N. Fourth St. Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814). The graveside service will follow the viewing at 11 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery (1065 Lincoln Way, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814).
