James Daniel Brunett, 83 of Tucson, Arizona, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024. Born May 9, 1941, in Kalispell. The son of Carmille "Kitty" Arthur Brunett and Florence Matilda Ruff.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Engebritson) Brunett, of 16 years, also from Kalispell. Vivian and Jim resided at the Desert Pueblo Park in Tucson. In addition, James is survived by his twin brother Gerry; his five children: Theresa Paras, Victoria Orozco, Cynthia Brunett, James Brunett Jr. and Maria Brunett; stepdaughter Terry Caudill; 18 grandkids and 20 great-grandkids, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
James spent his first 18 years in Kalispell, graduating from Flathead High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Navy in 1964, where he met and married Trinidad Ramos in Oxnard, California. They were married for 12 years and proudly had five children. In March 1978, James married again to Marsha Humphrey. They were married for 30 years. They worked and lived throughout Montana. James had many jobs, but he often spoke of Montgomery Ward, Wiesmans, Fasteners Hardware and Churchhill Equipment Company. Marsha and James retired together in Tucson, Arizona.
Marsha preceded him in death in 2007. James is preceded in death by both his parents, his brother, Jay Butler and sisters Delores Moeller and Ila Moore.
Services will be held at Conrad Cemetery on Wednesday, July 16 at 2 p.m., with a celebration of life following the service in the basement of Sykes grocery.
