Glacier will see a July light snow, raw wind and rain Monday night into Tuesday

Backcountry hikers in Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness could see a few snowflakes Monday night into Tuesday.

Most of the precipitation should fall as rain, with a raw wind, but a dusting of snow could also come to the high peaks with a few snowflakes at Logan Pass, the National Weather Service is saying. 

The Weather Service says lows will be in the 30s overnight and will be in the 40s and 50s in the backcountry Tuesday. The winds will also be a factor, with widespread gusts out of the north northeast of 35 to 45 mph and isolated gusts of 55 mph. 

So avoid setting up camp near dead snags if possible. 

The weather improves the rest of the week with highs in the 70s Wednesday and 80s and plenty of sunshine and dry conditions. 

Glacier can see snow any month of the year, but this storm is a bit unusual in that it comes with the brisk north wind, the Weather Service is saying.
