LEGION BASEBALL: Lums go deep twice in win

COEUR d’ALENE — Dylan Cook and Travis Usdrowski homered as the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen “AA” team beat the Spokane Crew 18U 8-6 on Monday at Thorco Field.
Cook hit a solo homer in the second inning for Coeur d’Alene (21-18), and Usdrowski added a two-run shot in the third.
In the fourth, Jack Pierce drew a bases-loaded walk for the Lums to break a 4-all tie. Tanner Franklin followed with a walk to drive in a run, and Cook delivered a sacrifice fly to cap the four-run inning.
Next up for the Lums is a trip to Forest Grove, Ore., for the Pacific University tournament starting Friday, to wrap up the regular season.

POST FALLS — Grady Stinson and Gavin Wienker each had two-run singles in a 13-run first inning for the Cardinals, who beat the Savages in the regular season finale at Brett James Memorial Field.
Wienker finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Prairie (18-12-1). Stinson also had an RBI double later in the inning for the Cardinals.
James Morast had a two-run single in a 10-run third inning for Prairie. Andrew Olson finished with four RBIs.
Harlen Baker went 2 for 4 and drove in two runs for St. Maries.
Next up is the class A Area A (district) tournament at Thorco Field in Coeur d’Alene, starting Thursday.
