Former Flathead County resident, Lyle Lee Boisen, 70, of Puerto Penasco, Mexico passed away peacefully on Feb. 7, 2025 following a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 23, 1954 in Kalispell, the third child to Irvin and Mollie (Hulit) Boisen. Lyle was raised in rural Columbia Falls. He attended elementary school in the area and finished school in Columbia Falls.
Lyle was a true ‘70s guy, helping anyone in need and living a care-free life . He sampled many occupations and owned several businesses over the years making him a true Jack of all Trades.
Lyle lived much of his early adulthood rambling the road, selling insurance, antiques, curb numbers, advertising, and real estate, much of this while raising his twin children.
Lyle moved back to Montana in 1985 where he later met Lori Omang, whom he married in August 1990.
They lived outside Martin City until 1995 before hitting the road themselves. After two years on the road, they moved to Portland Oregon, where they built an advertising business. As retirement approached, Lyle and Lori divided their time between Portland and Mexico, squeezing in trips back to Montana to connect with family and friends.
Lyle loved gardening. His passion was raising tomatoes and making jams and jellies with his harvested fruit.
One of his favorite things was sharing the bountiful harvest with family, friends and acquaintances. He grew extra every year to have food to give away. Lyle loved competition and was always up for a game of cribbage, pool, darts or whatever anyone wanted to play.
His survivors include his wife, Lori, daughter Amber (Jeff), son, Devon (Niz), grandsons Kermit and Ronan, sisters Carol Brownell, and Rose (Tony) Beranek, father in law Bob Omang, brother in law Buzz Rose (Eileen), sister in law Amy Omang (Mark), Aunt Dixie Knopfle, Uncle Forrest Prichard, numerous nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mollie and Irvin; mother-in-law Alice Omang, father -in-law Willie Anderson, ex-wife Susan and brother in law Richard Brownell.
Lyle’s Celebration of Life is planned for Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Birch Grove Community Center, 594 Birch Grove Rd, Kalispell, MT 59901 (Lyle’s first and second grade school).
