EWU adds eight to 2025-26 men's basketball roster
CHENEY — Second-year Eastern Washington University head basketball coach Dan Monson announced the addition of two freshmen and six transfers to the Eagles' roster.
The additions include 6-foot-1 guard Jojo Anderson, who played at Idaho last year, guards Johnny Radford (6-1) and Straton Rodgers (6-5) from NAIA College of Idaho in Caldwell, and 6-8 forward Alton Hamilton IV from Lewis-Clark State College.
“Experience was something we lacked last season, and we addressed that this spring," Monson said. "We now have 10 guys on our roster that are in their fourth or fifth year of college. This is a balanced class, featuring multiple players that have experienced a great deal of personal accolades and team success at their prior stops.”
In his lone season at Idaho, Anderson, from Mt. Spokane High, appeared in 30 games, averaging 14.9 minutes per contest. Prior to that, he spent three years at Whitworth, where he earned Northwest Conference MVP and First Team honors in 2023-24, where he averaged 17.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game before a season-ending shoulder injury.
Radford, from Wood River High in Hailey, spent five seasons at the College of Idaho, where he helped the Yotes win two NAIA national titles. He shot 43% from three-point range and started all 37 games in his final season. For his career, he totaled 1,771 points and 166 assists.
Rodgers, from Rocky Mountain High in Meridian, won two NAIA titles in his four seasons at College of Idaho. A two-time conference defensive player of the year, Rodgers totaled 768 points, 109 steals, 179 assists and 26 blocks for the Yotes. Rodgers helped Rocky win a state title in 2018.
Hamilton totaled 530 rebounds, 900 points, 120 assists and 44 blocks at LC State, where he was an NAIA first-team All-American his second year and before that, the Cascade Collegiate Conference Freshman of the Year.
EWU also added Isaiah Moses, a 6-0 guard who played one year at College of Southern Idaho and two seasons at UC Riverside; Kiree Huie, a 6-9 forward who spent one year at Miami, and before that one season at Idaho State and two at Odessa College; Cole Scherer, a 6-2 guard from Valor Christian High in Littleton, Colo., who was Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year in both 2024 and 2025; and Alan Gballou, a 6-7 forward from Layton Christian Academy in Layton, Utah.
