Bonners Ferry Farmers Market Kids Day a success

Downtown Bonners Ferry was buzzing with energy and smiles this past Saturday as the farmers market hosted its highly anticipated Kid’s Day, an event that turned out to be the market’s biggest and most vibrant of the season so far.
“Kids Day was a huge success and probably our biggest market of the season.” said market manager Samantha Banuet. “We had lots of free festivities geared towards the local youth in our community, including free face painting, balloons, games, spin the wheel for prizes, and Chalk the Block with Hannah Sucsy from Teascarlet.”
Families poured into the market under sunny July skies to enjoy the fun-filled atmosphere and support local vendors. The Chalk the Block event gave kids a chance to turn the downtown sidewalks into colorful works of art, while others enjoyed spinning a prize wheel, playing games, or getting their faces painted.
The market reached full capacity with 50 vendors, offering everything from fresh produce and artisan goods to handmade crafts and delicious food. According to Banuet, most vendors saw strong sales throughout the day, and some even sold out completely.
In addition to the festivities, the market also distributed all of the Lil' Badger Lunch Bags, a new program that provides free summer lunches for kids.
