Carol Olson, 85

Carol Olson, 85, was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, the third of four children. Her family moved to Kalispell when she was in third grade. She attended Hedges Elmentary, Central School Middle school and Flathead High School, graduating in 1957.
While working as a teller at Conrad Bank, she was set up on a blind date with her future husband, Owen "Bud" Olson. They married in 1962, moving to Bozeman for Bud to finish college. While there, their daughter was born. In 1967, after he graduated, they moved to Santa Maria, California where their son was born. In 1970 they moved to Maui Hawaii. While there they enjoyed long weekends Island hopping. In 1970 they moved to San Jose, California where she worked as an operational supervisor at Bank of the West for 20 years. Eventually she got out of banking and worked in purchasing at Oak Grove School District. In 1995 they retired and moved back to their beloved Montana and bought and house and property in Columbia Falls.
Together they enjoyed, traveling, hiking, bowling, Bridge Club, square dancing and her favorite, camping with her family. She loved to read and always carried a book with her. After her husband passed, she remained in her home until it was just too hard for her. She then moved in with her daughter and family in Kalispell.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie "Vic" Direito, son, Mike (Amelia) Olson, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. All who will miss her terribly.
No services are planned. There will be a private memorial at a later time.
