Kootenai River Days underway in Bonners Ferry

BONNERS FERRY — Kootenai River Days is underway in downtown Bonners Ferry. The annual celebration takes place today through Saturday.
Hosted by the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce, the annual event features a full slate of family-friendly activities, longtime traditions and local flair.
Festivities begin Thursday evening with the Rotary Wine and Barley Walk at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Mountain West Bank, Under the Sun and Riverside Auto. The Chalk the Block art event, which runs from July 15–19, takes place from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily.
Friday brings Crazy Dayz sidewalk sales from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with vendors lining Main Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A street dance featuring Jam Shack runs from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Saturday kicks off at 8 a.m. with the Kootenai River Run at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. The run will feature seven bands.
More sales, the farmers market, bounce houses, face painting, and a dunk tank round out the morning.
Snacks and treats will be available throughout the day, including popcorn from Beta Sigma Phi and ice cream floats sold by Bonners Ferry High School cheerleaders.
Golfers can take part in the Birdies for Brothers tournament, teeing off at 9 a.m. at Mirror Lake Golf Course.
The celebration closes with an all-class reunion and another street dance from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., featuring country artist Devon Wade.
