Orlando Louis Duran, 86

Orlando Duran passed away peacefully July 5, 2025, after an extended illness. Born in Salida, Colo., he was one of 13 siblings. He spent his life sharing laughter, food, love and faith with everyone around him.

A lifelong restaurateur, Orlando owned and co-owned several Mexican restaurants in Arizona and Washington before opening Orlando’s Mexican Restaurant in North Idaho. Known for his amazing food, quick wit and large laugh, he became a beloved figure in the community. He retired in 2017 and enjoyed his later years tending his yard and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqui; his six children: Jesse (Lily), Gina (Louie), Elizabeth (Peter), Nickie, Louie and Suzanna; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 19, at 1 p.m. at Cloverdale Farms, 1180 W. Boekel Road.
