Elaine Patricia Countryman, 88, of Columbia Falls, died peacefully on July 12, 2025. She was surrounded by her family and will be missed forever.

She was born on May 31, 1937, to Bernie Benson and Margaret Benson and raised by her mother and Thomas Smith in Columbia Falls. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1955 and spoke about her 70th class reunion coming up at the end of this month.

She married Roy Countryman Jr. of Columbia Falls on Oct. 17, 1955. Elaine was a stay-at-home mom to Tom and Becky Countryman, her greatest and proudest achievements. She was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed playing Bridge with her lifelong friends. 

Elaine is survived by Tom (Cindy) Countryman of Kalispell and Becky Countryman-Doherty of Port Angeles, Washington.  

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy, at his passing in 2017; her parents and stepfather, her sister, Bernie (Dave) Crowe, and stepsisters, Sandra and Elma "Punk" Smith. 

There will be a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 25 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Columbia Falls. Following the service, there will be a reception at The Back Room.
