COEUR d’ALENE — A man who admitted to possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material received a prison sentence this week.
Dakotah R. Kitchen, 29, of Post Falls, pleaded guilty in May to sexual exploitation of children by possession of distribution of sexually exploitative material, as well as producing/possessing visual representations of child sexual abuse.
First District Judge John Cafferty sentenced Kitchen to 15 years in prison with parole eligibility after five years.
After law enforcement received tips indicating that Kitchen possessed child sexual abuse material, investigators obtained a search warrant for his computer and phone, according to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The devices contained “at least 50 files containing pictures and videos” of child sexual abuse material.
Prosecutors said evidence also indicated Kitchen had distributed the material over the internet.
“Additionally, Kitchen admitted to producing and possessing approximately 100 files of computer-generated images depicting child sexual abuse,” according to prosecutors.
