Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 months, 3 weeks AGO
Chandler Scott Harris, beloved son, brother and friend, passed away July 16, 2025, in Hayden Lake, Idaho, at the age of 28. He was born Aug. 31, 1996, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Scott and Sharla Harris and grew up alongside his older brother, Connor.
Chandler was raised in both Boise and Hayden Lake, graduating from high school in 2015. Throughout his school years, he was deeply involved in robotics and drama, where his creativity and talent shone brightly. In his senior year, he wrote and produced original songs for school plays, leaving a lasting impression on peers and teachers alike.
Known for his brilliant mind and kind heart, Chandler was described by teachers as smart, happy and deeply compassionate. He welcomed others exactly as they were, creating a sense of ease and acceptance wherever he went.
Chandler's talents were vast and varied. He studied multiple languages, composed music, created art and mastered technology. Professors at North Idaho College and the University of Idaho often remarked on the extraordinary quality of his writing. Chandler was also an accomplished pianist, though he occasionally frustrated his piano teacher by skipping over learning the notes. His gift was undeniable — he could hear a song and sit down to play it by ear. Music flowed through him effortlessly. One of his greatest joys was playing the piano while his dog, Mya, "sang" along beside him, always bringing warmth and joy to his home. He was a champion gymnast, an award-winning artist and writer and a perfectionist who approached every endeavor with thoughtfulness and care.
Though he kept a close-knit circle, Chandler gave his heart fully to those he loved. His family was always his top priority, and he cherished them with deep and unconditional love. He had a gentle, unassuming nature and a quiet presence that brought comfort to those around him.
Chandler was preceded in death by both grandmothers, an uncle, his sister, Brittney, and cousin Jacob. He is survived by his father, Scott; mother Sharla; brother and best friend, Connor; his grandfathers; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chandler's legacy is one of grace, creativity, intelligence and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Details about memorial services will be shared with friends and family privately in the coming weeks.
