A thrilling moment at this year’s Men’s Member-Guest Tournament, The Wanagan, turned into a life-changing shot for Jeff Cochran on Friday, July 18, at Eagle Bend Golf Club.
Cochran, a club member, recorded a hole-in-one on the 161-yard 4th hole - and in doing so, claimed the grand prize in the tournament’s highly anticipated hole-in-one contest: A brand-new car courtesy of Kalispell Auto Group.
Using a 9-wood, Cochran’s perfectly struck tee shot landed directly into the cup, setting off a wave of cheers and disbelief among his group and nearby spectators.
The contest, which added an extra layer of excitement to an already celebrated event, was generously sponsored by David Fetveit, real estate broker with PureWest Real Estate and longtime supporter of the Flathead Valley golf community.
“This was one of those unforgettable golf moments,” said Fetveit. “To have someone win a car with a hole-in-one - and at an event like The Wanagan - just adds to the magic of what makes this tournament so special.”
The Wanagan, held annually at the picturesque Eagle Bend Golf Club in Bigfork, is known for its camaraderie, competition, and a few surprises - but a hole-in-one prize winner is a rare and exciting highlight.
Kalispell Auto Group partnered with the event to offer the car as a prize for the feat, underscoring its commitment to supporting community events and local recreation.
Congratulations to Jeff Cochran on a once-in-a-lifetime shot, and many thanks to all who participated, sponsored, and supported this memorable tournament
