ELAINE PATRICIA COUNTRYMAN of Columbia Falls died peacefully on July 12, 2025 at the age of 88 years old. She was surrounded by her family and will be missed forever.
She was born on May 31, 1937 to Bernie Benson and Margaret Benson and raised by her mother and Thomas Smith in Columbia Falls. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1955 and spoke about her 70th class reunion coming up at the end of this month.
She married Roy Countryman Jr. of Columbia Falls, Montana on October 17, 1955.
Elaine was a stay-at-home mom to Tom and Becky Countryman, her greatest and proudest achievements. She was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed playing Bridge with her lifelong friends.
Elaine is survived by Tom (Cindy) Countryman of Kalispell and Becky Countryman-Doherty of Port Angeles, Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy of 63 years at his passing in 2017 and her parents and step-father; her sister Bernie (Dave) Crowe, and step-sisters Sandra and Elma “Punk” Smith.
There will be a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Columbia Falls on Friday, July 25 at 11 a.m. Following the service there will be a reception at The Back Room. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
