Flathead Valley Community Band to play free concerts

The Flathead Valley Community Band will be performing free concerts in Columbia Falls, Eureka and Libby July 24 and 26.
Concerts will feature pieces from the Broadway musicals “My Fair Lady” and “The Music Man,” in addition to John Philip Sousa Marches and original pieces. Organizers have also planned a patriotic sing-along. The program will conclude with the state song, “Montana.”
The Columbia Falls concert will be held at 7 p.m. at Marentette Park, 133 13th St. E. on July 24.
On July 26, the band will be performing in Eureka and Libby. The Eureka concert starts at noon and will be held at the Timbers Event Center, 101 Julian Dr. The Libby concert begins at 5 p.m. at Libby Elementary School, 101 Ski Road.
Concerts are open to the public. The Flathead Valley Community Band is a nonprofit group with the goal of bringing live music to a variety of audiences throughout the valley. The band, currently under the direction of Allen Slater, has been performing for more than 50 years.
