COLUMBIA BASIN — The weather is gorgeous and there’s lots happening around the Basin.  Here are a few possibilities:

July 25

Summer Concert Series: American Honey

Free concert. American Honey is well known for their powerful lead vocals and high-octane blend of country, soul and rock ‘n roll grit. 8 p.m. at the Centennial Amphitheater, McCosh Park, Moses Lake. Info: 509-764-3830.

Live music by Yotes

Yotes combines his rich baritone vocals with an energetic delivery, playing a mix of songs from 1950s country, 1980s neo-rockabilly, modern Americana, and many genres and eras in between. Old favorites are interspersed with some of his favorite songs by friends and up-and-coming artists he’s met through the years. 6 p.m. at Moses Lake Taproom, 530 W. Valley Road. Info: 509-707-0052.

Music in the Park

Free concert by singer-songwriter Rylei Franks. Bring your lawn chairs, your picnic blankets and your favorite people. 7 p.m. at Ephrata Rocks Park, 48 Basin St. SW. Info: ephrata.org.

Summer Movie Night: ‘Monsters, Inc.’

Free movie under the stars. Free hot dogs and popsicles. Bring a blanket or chair. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Hosted by Life Church 360. 8:30 p.m. at Warden City Park. Info: 509-750-1111.

July 26

Central Basin Audubon Society Bird Walk

Bring Discover pass, binoculars, snacks and water; wear long pants and sturdy walking shoes. We should see great egrets, terns, snipe, kingfishers, western wood pewees and bald eagles. If we’re lucky, the great horned owl will make an appearance like last year. 8 a.m. at the Lind Coulee public fishing access, Road M Southeast just north of SR 262. Info: 509-475-3143.

Summer Market

Ukulele Jams

Ukulele jams allow you to learn or practice playing simple chords while singing along with instructor Jennifer McCarthy and other participants. Bring your instrument and desire to make music to the museum once a month and enjoy the benefits of singing and playing in a group. Don’t have a ukulele? Beyond Boundaries: College Conversations

Big Bend Community College and SkillSource are teaming up for this free college assistance event. Whether you’re a high school student, recent graduate or adult thinking about college, these events are designed to help you take the next step. Drop in for one-on-one support with college applications, financial aid (FAFSA/WASFA) and scholarship applications. Author Visit: Kat McCormick

Meet novelist Kat McCormick, author of “His Time to Kill,” who doesn’t shy away from difficult truths or tender moments — she honors them, often with a touch of humor or a line that lingers in your chest. 5 p.m. at the Ritzville Public Library, 302 W. Backpack Giveaway

Know a student who needs a backpack and school supplies for the new school year? Free backpacks filled with school supplies will be available one to a student. Child must be with an adult. Free Family Saturday: Paper Van Gogh Sunflowers

Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers series is among the most famous of his works. We will be recreating them in paper. Join the museum for this sweet, simple craft. Autism Family Pool Party
