James Malcom Bonar, 57, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 103 W. Pacific St., Sandpoint.
Jim was born July 27, 1967, in Modesto, Calif., to Mary and Chuck Bonar. He grew up and attended schools in Sandpoint.
After high school Jim worked at TESH and later Panhandle Special Needs, Inc. He enjoyed swimming, spending summers at the cabin in Glengary Bay, watching sports, participating in the Special Olympics, rooting for the University of Washington Huskies, and watching the cheerleaders and band.
He is survived by his two brothers, Hoyt (Mary) Bonar of Shoreline, Wash., and John Bonar of Sandpoint; and two nephews, McKinnon and Arley Bonar.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim’s brothers are very grateful for the support of the community and close friends participating in his adventures through life.
