Leitch commits to Santa Monica College

Full caption: Priest River's Hannah Leitch recently committed to continue her softball career at Santa Monica College (3C2A) in Santa Monica, Calif. Primarily a right-handed pitcher, she was a 3A Central Idaho League Second Team selection and the Priest River team MVP as a senior. A three-year player and two-year varsity starter, Hannah finished out her high school career with 47.1 innings pitched and 38 strikeouts across 19 total appearances in the circle. At the plate, she's contributed six hits, 16 runs scored, seven RBI and four stolen bases over the last three years. "She's worked hard, even coming in on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6 a.m. all during the offseason," Priest River High head softball coach Ron Kruse said. "The amount of growth she's had year-over-year leads me to believe she will be successful, especially when she gets with a good pitching coach and a good program that's concentrated on fitness. She has the right mindset for it — she works hard, does well with time management, and keeps her grades up. I'm excited for her and excited for Priest River."
