Post Falls police arrest man after standoff

POST FALLS — Police arrested a man after a standoff Friday.
Benjamin Turpin, 28, is charged with resisting or obstructing a police officer, according to the Post Falls Police Department.
Law enforcement initially went to a residence in the 900 block of Riverside Harbor Drive around 4:30 p.m. Friday in order to serve a protection order and remove Turpin from the home.
When police contacted Turpin at the residence and ordered him to come outside, he allegedly ran into the home and barricaded himself. Patrol units surrounded the home and police obtained a warrant for Turpin's arrest.
The Post Falls Police Special Response Team then entered the home and arrested Turpin. He was booked into the Kootenai County jail.

MOSES LAKE — Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin officials are warning people that scammers apparently are using the club’s logo and claiming to be affiliated with the organization. The scammers allegedly were soliciting money door to door along Third Avenue early Tuesday afternoon.
