Dover to launch urban forestry program

DOVER — The city has received a grant through the Idaho Department of Lands to fund an Urban/Community Forestry Program, Dover officials said Friday.

The first step of the plan is to collect an inventory of the trees on city-owned properties and rights-of-way. Jim Flott of Community Forestry Consultants will be making site visits for the inventory process beginning the week of July 28.

After the inventory process has been completed, Dover officials said the city will begin the community engagement process which will likely incorporate public meetings.

"We look forward to this opportunity to improve our surroundings," Dover Mayor George Eskridge said.
