Thomas J. Bowen, 70
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 8 months, 3 weeks AGO
Tom was born on Feb. 8, 1955, in Spokane, Washington. He built a life rooted in hard work, integrity, and a deep love for his family. A true visionary with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Tom owned and operated Bighorn Development Inc., pouring his heart into every project he touched. Whether building homes or relationships, Tom believed in doing things the right way — with care, patience, and pride.
Tom met the love of his life, Jereen (Essley) Bowen, and together they raised two daughters, Jill (Bowen) Brass and Kelly (Bowen) Galle, who were his world. He welcomed his sons-in-law, Cody Brass and Dan Galle, into the family, always showing up as a strong and steady presence. But perhaps his favorite title was “Papa” — a role he filled with immense joy and pride for his grandchildren: Rylee Galle, Grayson Galle, and Tommi Brass.
Tom was known for his joking demeanor, his laugh, and his get-it-done attitude. He was the kind of person who made things happen confidently — the steady hand that always held everything together.
He loved the woods, whether chasing the next big elk or simply breathing in the fresh air and soaking up the scenery. Tom found joy in the simple things: a beautiful view, a ride through the woods, time spent with those he loved most, and—let’s not forget—a cold Diet Mountain Dew.
Tom’s legacy lives on through his family, his work, and the countless people he helped along the way. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the strength, love, and stability he gave so generously.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Buffalo Hills Funeral Home on Aug. 21, 2025, at 4 p.m. Additional details about the celebration following the service will be provided. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Tom’s memory by spending time with your loved ones.
