Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 year AGO
IDAHO FALLS – Andrew Olson had two hits, including a two-run single to break the game open in the top of the sixth inning as the Prairie Cardinals beat the Idaho Falls Bees 5-3 in a loser-out game in the state “A” American Legion baseball tournament at the Tiger Athletic Complex on Sunday.
The Cardinals will face the Burley Green Sox, which beat the Idaho Falls Grizzlies 11-10 in Sunday’s other game.
Both Burley and Prairie will advance to the Northwest Regional tournament Aug. 7-11 at Burley High. Due to Idaho being the host state, they received two berths to regionals.
Prairie (25-14-1) advanced to the championship round today, winning its fourth straight elimination game after falling to the Bees 7-0 in the opening round Thursday.
Prairie has not played Burley in the tournament.
Idaho Falls finished 19-14-2.
