Avista will use a helicopter to transport and install six new power poles in Spirit Lake.

The helicopter will be in use between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Avista has also scheduled an electric outage from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the same day. The outage will affect 52 customers on the south side of Spirit Lake. Impacted customers will be notified in advance of the outage.

Power poles will be transported from the staging area at 6288 West Maryland Street to the south side of Spirit Lake. For public safety and the safety of workers, West Maryland Street will be closed and traffic control will be in place.

The power poles will not be flown over any structures. Avista uses helicopters typically in remote areas that are difficult to access.
