John Ivan Mee, 69

John Ivan Mee, 69, of Trego, left this world to be present with his Savior on May 27, 2025. Born in Whitefish to Howard Ivan and Julia Ann of Trego on Feb. 5, 1956, John was the second of four children. 

After graduating from LCHS in 1974, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Marvel, in 1976. Together, they shared 49 incredible years filled with love and laughter. John and Sylvia raised two amazing sons, Howard and Dillon, and were blessed with a joyful band of grandchildren who brought them endless pride and happiness.

As a lifelong logger, John was known for his strength, skill, and ability to do just about anything. To his family, he seemed invincible. He loved spending time in the woods, fishing and being with those he loved. In recent months, John quietly came to the powerful realization that he could no longer live his life on his own terms and surrendered his life to Christ. When he took his final breath, he stepped into the arms of his Savior, finally whole and at peace. 

John was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. 

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; son, Howard (Anna); grandchildren, Gracie, Jordan (Alyssa), Caleb, and Ryan; son, Dillon (Brittany); grandchildren, Boaz, Olivette, Paulina, and baby on the way; brothers, Albert (Dorene) and Kelly (Gail); sister, Ivanna (Mark Purdy); brother-in-law, Rick (Traci) Marvel; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at the Chapel of Praise in Eureka. With a graveside service to follow at Fortine Cemetery.
