Geri Boyle, 78, unexpectedly left us recently in her home in Marion. She was born in 1947 in Billings. The daughter of Earl "Buck" Keenan and Gertrude Van Leer.
Geri was born and raised in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1965. She was always fond of her classmates and kept in touch throughout her entire life. She proudly attended every class reunion with her lifelong friends. While at senior high, she fell in love with the future father of her children, Preston "Perry" Lyles. After high school she attended Montana State University in Bozeman. Soon after they were married and the start of this beautiful family began with the addition of their three children, whom she loved dearly—Preston, Lisa and Michael. While Geri moved numerous times between Montana and Washington, she settled down in Arizona for many years. While in Arizona, she met Tom Boyle. They spent the next 30 years married until Tom's passing in 2022.
After becoming paralyzed, Geri refused to let that stop her from enjoying the things she loved. Including playing piano, being outdoors, cooking and traveling. One of Geri's proudest accomplishments was that she never missed a graduation or wedding of her grandchildren no matter how far away. And she never missed a class reunion.
After Tom passed, Geri packed up her life one more time and moved to Northwest Montana to the small town of Marion. With help from her son's, they built her, as she would call it, her "Mountain Cottage." This is where she would spend hours watching the wildlife outside, cozied up to her fire, baking cookies, watching the Northern Lights, enjoying Sunday dinners with her family and spending any available time with her family and friends who would travel to visit her.
While Geri has left all of us unexpectedly, her life and love will never be forgotten. Those who knew her knew that she loved her family endlessly and that she never wavered in her faith with her Lord and Savior regardless of any hardship she had endured. Geri has now run home into his loving arms and is free of any pain or disability, watching over all of us who cherished her time here.
Geri is survived by her children, Preston (wife, Annette) Lyles, Lisa Guy and Mike (wife, Marsha) Lyles. As well as her grandchildren, Preston (wife, Ali) Lyles, Kelsey Lyles, Michael (wife, Jessica) Lyles, Jessica (fiancé, Sean Kehl), Madison (husband, Cody) Cunningham, and Courtney Guy. Along with her beloved great-grandchildren, Preston and Brooklyn. Her sister, Patti Supola and brother, John Keenan. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved stepchildren, Joe Boyle, Mike Boyle, Bob Bjordahl, JP Holland, and Cassidy Holland and their families
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom, and her brothers, Michael Keenan and James Keenan.
Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell accepted Geri and allowed a private family viewing for her children and grandchildren. Cremation has taken place per Geri's wishes. The family will plan a celebration of life— with a date, time and location to come at a later date.
