SANDPOINT — Cy Marshall scattered six hits across four scoreless innings in relief on the mound as the Lakers bested the Dirt Dawgs on Friday in Spokane American Legion 'A' action at War Memorial Field.

Erik Hansen started a 4-run rally in the first inning with an RBI single to center, but the Lakers found themselves trailing 10-5 heading into the bottom half of the third.

In the third, Marshall and Mason Balch knocked RBI singles, Arrow Cramer and Theo Davison hit singles of their own, and the Lakers produced a 7-run inning before Marshall took the mound and sealed the deal.

Priest River High rising sophomore Karsen Garvin drew a bases loaded walk in the fourth inning to add on an insurance run.

Priest River High rising sophomore Karsen Garvin struck out three batters over 1.1 relief inning to close out the game for the Lakers (2-1), which return to action on Monday at Medical Lake for a league doubleheader against the Dirt Dawgs.
