Lake County softball teams compete at C-Town Showdown

Several Lake County youth softball teams took to the fields over the weekend at the 2025 C-Town Showdown, held May 30 to June 1 at the Columbia Falls High School softball complex.
In the 14U division, three local squads from Polson and Ronan made strong showings in pool and bracket play.
Polson’s Montana Purple Rain went 1-1-1 in pool play, earning a tie against the Whitefish Lady Dawgs (6-6), a 10-0 loss to the top-seeded Kalispell Emeralds, and a 5-1 win over Falls Fusion-Carroll. Purple Rain carried that momentum into bracket play, upsetting the Lady Dawgs 4-0 in the first round to advance to the semifinals against Kalispell.
The Mission Valley Thunder-Jackson team, representing Ronan, went 2-1 in pool play. They opened with a 7-4 win over Whitefish, shut out Fusion-Carroll 13-0, and suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to Falls Fusion-Nash. Thunder then defeated Thunder-Jennison 9-4 in the opening round of bracket play to reach the semifinals.
The Thunder-Jennison squad posted a 1-2 record in pool play, falling to the Emeralds and Fusion-Nash but bouncing back with a decisive 15-2 win over Whitefish.
In the 12U division, the Mission Valley Thunder (Ronan) finished 1-2 in pool play, notching an 11-6 win over Whitefish before falling to Kalispell 7-0 and host C-Town Rebels 10-8.
The 10U division saw two area teams in action. The Polson Lady Pirates went 2-1 in pool play with wins over Avalanche-Cooke (13-2) and Eureka Lady Lions (14-3), following an opening 9-1 loss to the Kalispell Emeralds. In bracket play, the Pirates fell 11-2 to Whitefish in the opening round.
Meanwhile, Mission Valley Thunder’s 10U team also went 2-1 in pool action. They earned convincing victories over Avalanche-Cooke (13-1) and Havre Stampede (13-1), with their only loss coming in a 3-1 battle against the Emeralds.
