COEUR d’ALENE — A man received a prison sentence for possessing cocaine.
Donovan J. Erickson, 31, pleaded guilty in March to possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and resisting/obstructing officers.
First District Judge Lamont Berecz sentenced Erickson this week to 10 years in prison with parole eligibility after three years.
The charges stemmed from a December 2024 traffic stop in which Erickson was a passenger, according to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors said Erickson had a warrant for his arrest at the time of the traffic stop.
After arresting Erickson, police searched him and found “nearly an ounce of cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, a scale with empty baggies and a handgun,” according to prosecutors.
