Wyatt Sharp drove in a pair of runs to break a 1-1 tie during a six-run sixth inning as the Kalispell A Lakers took game one 6-1 and swept the Mission Valley A Mariners in a Friday doubleheader.

Sharp also sparked a game two comeback, scoring on a passed ball as Kalispell (13-12) scored four runs in the fifth en route to a 5-2 win.

Holden Emerson put the Mariners (4-6) on the board first in game one with an RBI double that scored Landon Shoemake.

Mission Valley’s offense dried up after that thanks to a complete game performance from Lakers pitcher Max Schara. He allowed just three hits and one run while striking out four.

Liam Rech tied the game with a sixth-inning infield single that brought Tait Orme home. Sharp’s double gave Kalispell its first lead of the evening.

Kalispell added some insurance runs with a bases-loaded walk followed by two runs scoring on an error in left field, making it 6-1.

Bryson DuMont went 5 2-3 innings on the mound for Mission Valley, allowing five hits and striking out one.

In game two, The Mariners once again found the scoreboard first with a Cody Haggard double to center, scoring Cole Wadsworth.

After a third inning sacrifice fly made it 2-0 Mission Valley, Kalispell got themselves on the board with Sharp’s baserunning. Dillon Wink then tied the game with a single to center that scored Ethan Kim. A sacrifice bunt and walk added two more runs for the Lakers.

Sharp added one more run in the sixth after tagging up on a fly out to make it 5-2.

George Schwan made it two complete games for the Lakers on the mound, allowing seven hits and fanning three.

Cash Atkinson went the distance for the Mariners, giving up four hits and also striking out three batters.
