Kelly James Chadderdon, 64, passed away at the Schneidmiller Hospice House on June 1, 2025. Kelly was born Aug. 21, 1960, in Sidney, Mont., to Loren Russell Chadderdon and Florence Joan (Wandler) Chadderdon. Kelly’s parents moved to Coeur d’Alene when he was 6 months old, where he happily remained the rest of his life. In his teens, he joined his mother at the North Shore Resort (now The Coeur d’Alene Resort), where he worked as a dishwasher. He quickly worked his way up and held many positions, including sous chef, and at 21, he became the kitchen manager at the Holiday Inn.

While at the North Shore, he met his lifetime partner, Sheree Greenfield. In the following years, they opened and operated Movieland Video in Rathdrum and Casey’s Restaurant in Post Falls. In 1998, along with Kelly’s brother, Shaun, they opened a new restaurant, O’Malley’s Sports Pub & Grill in Rathdrum. Largely due to Kelly’s extraordinary cooking abilities, O’Malley’s soon became very successful. After eight years, Kelly chose to sell the restaurant because he had a calling to feed the poor.

After volunteering for months at the Cd’A Food Bank, Kelly was offered the warehouse manager job, which he held for 12 years. This was God’s calling for him. While there, he touched many lives with his unselfish generosity. Because he witnessed his mother’s struggles to make ends meet while raising him and his six siblings, he was nonjudgmental and only wanted to help others ease their burdens. In the last few years, he faced his own personal struggles, but never wavered from the deep bond he shared with his mother. This included their love of Jesus Christ. Kelly will be laid to rest in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Kelly is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Loren. He is survived by sisters: Corinne Chadderdon of Hayden, Lynelle Holom (Don) of Coeur d’Alene, and Teah Chadderdon (Franklin) of Milwaukee, Wis.; brothers Kenneth Chadderdon of Coeur d’Alene and Shaun Chadderdon of Hayden; and nine nephews. He will be deeply missed, especially by Sheree, with whom he shared a deep relationship for over 45 years.

Kelly requested no funeral. However, a mass honoring him and his mother will be celebrated Dec. 21, 2025, at 10 a.m., at St. Thomas Church. Please visit Kelly’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
