LEGION BASEBALL: Ellwood leads Northern Lakes past Prairie

SPIRIT LAKE — Tadgh Ellwood went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Northern Lakes in a 6-3 win over the Prairie Cardinals in a Class ‘A’ North Idaho League game at John Shaffer Field on Tuesday. 

“It was a great game,” Northern Lakes coach Bryce Johnson said. “I think it’s going to be a good matchup with us all year long. We had some really good two-out hitting and Tadgh was swinging the bat as good as you can. Prairie is a good team and they make plays, but we did a good job of capitalizing with guys on base and keeping them with guys on base.”

Jace Taylor had two hits and two RBIs for Northern Lakes (5-0, 3-0 NIL), which faces Lewis-Clark in a doubleheader on Thursday at Harris Field in Lewiston at 11 a.m. 

Gavin Wienker singled and scored two runs for Prairie (9-5, 3-1) , which faces Lewis-Clark in a doubleheader on Saturday at Harris Field in Lewiston.
