'Idaho Originals' coming to North Idaho in July
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 month AGO
"Idaho Originals" featuring Crazy Love will be performed at 5 p.m. July 10 at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library, 702 E. Front Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
The performance is free thanks to a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council.
"Idaho Originals," is a live musical travelogue of the people, places and stories of Idaho. It is accompanied by a slideshow of artwork, created by Idaho artists, inspired by each of the songs.
Crazy Love is a duo that comprises musicians Heather Platts and Bruce Michael Miller, who currently live in Twin Falls but have been traveling throughout Idaho for the past year as a part of the Idaho Humanities Council "Inquiring Idaho" Speaker Series.
"While funding for this program has been put on hold, we are hopeful that the Humanities Council and the state of Idaho will find a way to continue the program in the future," Platts said in an email to The Press. "We have so appreciated the ability to travel to the small, rural areas of Idaho that don't have easy access to quality cultural, civic, artistic and educational programs such as this. We plan on continuing to write songs inspired by the people, places and stories of Idaho and continue to travel throughout the state in some capacity."
Crazy Love and "Idaho Originals" will also host a show 5 p.m. July 11 at the Boundary County Library in Bonners Ferry and 5 p.m. July 15 at the West Bonner Library in Priest River.
