Law enforcement logs for June 13, 2025

The reports below were provided by the sheriff's office or police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

Ephrata PD 

June 5 

Report of subject burning garbage in the 400 block of Basin Street Southwest. 

Report of dog at large in the 200 block of J Street Northeast.  

Report of male peeing in front of her on the trash can next to bus stop in 1100 block of Basin Street Southwest. Male subject had been contacted earlier. Found methamphetamine on male subject during search and logged into evidence.  

Report of cold theft from business on Nat Washington Way. Reporting party said female subject failed to pay for merchandise on the night of June 4. Police identified the subject.  

June 6 

Report of traffic stop on B Street Northeast. Driver fled on foot from stop. Driver taken into custody on Second Avenue Northwest after short foot chase. Jail was full and would not accept booked. Driver released. 

Report of agency assist with a collision at the intersection of Dodson Road Northwest and Road 14 Northwest. Collision was vehicle vs. telephone pole.  

Report of Ephrata PD officer dispatched to Morningstar for car stuck in engine compartment. Police arrived and located wet kitten in the engine compartment but unable to grab the cat. Reporting party said they tried spraying the cat with water but did not work. Reporting party sounded car horn and cat came out. Cat left. 

Report of assault at Ephrata Middle School. Student was fighting another student. Teacher broke it up. After fight was broke up, suspect said vulgar words to teacher and punched her in the face. Teacher restrained subject more afterward. School is working on expulsion. 

June 7 

Report of RV stolen from storage facility. EPD looked up subjects past and the RV title had been given to the storage owner where the reporting party had unpaid rent for the RV. EPD called reporting party back and phone was no longer in service. 

Report of domestic violence assault on Maringo Road. Subject located and detained on traffic stop. Subject cooperative and booked for felony assault and DUI. 

Report of cold storage unit burglary. Unit was broken into over the past few weeks and numerous items were stolen.  

Report of EPD assisting Grant Co. Sheriff’s Office with domestic. Victim reported suspect attempted to shoot her with a shotgun. Victim took shotgun and fled to neighbors. Suspect regained shotgun from neighbors. Suspect then turned gun on himself. Suspect transported to Columbia Basin Hospital. GCSO is investigating.  

June 8 

Report of two-vehicle collision on Third Avenue Southeast. Driver one fled on foot prior to police arrival. Driver two transported to Columbia Basin Hospital.  

June 9 

Report of fraud. Reporting party said they received a call from a number claiming to be the bank. Reporting party said she put money into Bitcoin machine per the callers request.  

Report of theft from business in Moses Lake. Reporting party said she left her wallet in a cart. Reporting party started seeing transactions come through.  

June 10 

Report of juvenile subject stealing and smoking sister’s weed. Has conversation in front of mom, reporting party. Juvenile admitted to going into sisters room and taking and smoking his sister’s weed. Juvenile subject warned to avoid this. Mom asked to tell the sister to better secure her weed.  

Report of collision on Alder Street Northwest and 14th Avenue Northwest. Vehicle two still on scene. Vehicle one found in town later. Vehicle one driver booked on hit and run attended and obstructing. 

June 11 

Report of cold burglary on Alder Street Southwest. Reporting party said that sometime last night someone entered the building by breaking a window next to the back door. The subject opened the window and came in. Reporting party said suspect took items. 

Report of several mailboxes knocked over and damaged. Police arrived and saw all mailboxes up on C Street Southeast and no damage.

June 5 

Report of two subjects fighting one another, physical. 

Report of male screaming and acting strange, howling, reporting party worried he may run into traffic. 

Report of cows in roadway. 

Report of man on side of road with rifle. 

Report of reporting party showing up to her fathers house and someone had lit the wheelbarrow on fire and pushed it near a truck. Reporting party was able to get fire out. Unknown who lit the fire. 

Report of credit and debit card fraud. 

Report of dog locked in car, reporting party got it out of the car after it had been four hours. Reporting party needs someone to come get the dog, unknown where the owner is. 

Report of theft of bbq pit.  

Report of four to five cows in roadway at the top of old Coulee Hill.  

Report of male subject assaulted by female subject. 

Report of truck going off the road. Possible injury. Possible hit some cows. Going 80 mph and never hit the brakes. 

Report of domestic violence. 

June 6 

Report of vehicle fire.  

Report of vehicle vs. pole collision. Female is standing outside her vehicle. The pole was not down and no downed wires. 

Report of forklift rollover. 

Report of two vehicle accident. 

Report of vehicle driving into the water and sinking. 

Report of stolen gas card. 

Report of cold burglary. 

Report of two-vehicle collision near gas station. 

Report of possible rolling domestic.  

Report of drug activity. 

Report of neighbor throwing rock at his trailer or dog. He is accusing reporting party of being a criminal. 

Report of gunfire at fairgrounds. 

June 7 

Report of semi vs. truck collision. Pickup is on fire with someone in it. Washington State Patrol on scene. 

Report of subjects trying to steal farm equipment. 

Report of vandalism to vehicles. 

Report of two motorcycles stolen overnight. 

Report of vehicle stolen, 2017 gray Kia.  

Report of vehicle prowl of work vehicles.  

Report of vehicle fire and male running around naked in area. 

Report of dog locked in car, clawing to get out. 

Report of yeti cooler stolen from reporting party’s pickup. 

Report of vehicle flipped over. 

Report of illegal burn. 

Report of DUI. 

Report of assault. 

Report of male subject taking items from reporting party’s property. 

June 8 

Report of subjects verbally arguing.  

Report of illegal campers on Monument Hill. Two vehicles and a tent. 

Report of black rabbits digging holes and eating plants on Valley Road in Moses Lake. Reporting person wanted an in-person visit. 

Report of subjects doing donuts in parking lot. 

Report of children jumping from bridge into water. 

Report of someone hitting their car while they were at the park. 

Report of neighbor attempting to assault the reporting party’s 17 year old boyfriend. 

Report of order violation. Grand Coulee Officer is trying to flag down. 

Report of subjects yelling. One saying “I am going to kill you.” Reporting party said it has been going on for a while.  

June 9 

Report of graffiti. Office manager has recorded video of the incident.  

Report of mailbox in Ephrata struck by a vehicle.  

Report of unsheltered person setting fire to property reporting party owns a week ago. 

Report of stolen 2018 silver explorer from Moses Lake. The reporting party gave police a suspect list. 

Report of illegal burn in Quincy. 

Report of three vehicles going fast up and down the street. 

Report of squatters at location. House belongs to Grant County Housing Authority and they blocked off the entryway. Subjects found a way back inside. 

Report of vehicle fire. 

Report of male and family trespassing on property and male is refusing to leave.  

Report of female and male arguing.  

Report of subjects fighting, yelling and subject hitting the wall. 

June 10 

Report of two vehicle accident, non injury and non-blocking.  

Report of stolen prescription medication. 

Report of theft in progress. 

Report of domestic, where boyfriend has a firearm. 

Report of three stray horses. 

Report of dog bite of UPS driver. 

Report of unsheltered woman drinking beer at a bus stop in Moses Lake. 

Report of people breaking into his residence. 

Report of red SUV on I-90 heading the wrong direction. 

Report of someone smoking weed in public.  

Report of reporting party finding friend deceased in the RV in the back of the property.  

Report of theft of tires. 

Report of attempted theft of fuel from reporting party’s vehicle. 

June 11 

Report of two subjects talking about killing someone and mentioning a weapon in Othello. 

Report of two vehicle accident.  

Report of gang-related graffiti found in the restroom located net to the boat launch at the Priest Rapids Recreation area. The graffiti is from two rival gangs. Grant Public Utility District wanted this to be documented.  

Report of road sign shot at then graffitied. 

Report of stolen silver 2013 Toyota Avalon.  

Report of suspicious male walking around with bandana over face, hat and carrying backpack.  

June 12 

Report of reporting party saying she was hit.  

Quincy PD 

June 6 

Report of people in house that is supposed to be vacant. 

Report of people riding mini bikes up and down street, no helmets, going through stop signs. 

June 7 

Report of semi vs. truck collision. Pickup is on fire with someone in it. Washington State Patrol on scene. 

Report of subject attempting to break into reporting party residence and car. 

Report of three subjects doing drugs at dog park.  

Report of DUI. 

June 8 

Report of traffic violation and hazard. 

Report of hit and run.  

Editor's note: Beginning next week, police logs will run daily in the back of the Lifestyle section. As more departments provide their blotters, the logs will need to be split up in order to fit appropriately.
