LEGION BASEBALL: Usdrowski's walk-off wins it for Lums at Church tourney

LEWISTON — Travis Usdrowski singled in Mark Holecek from third base with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen “AA” team past the Nampa Chiefs 18U 7-6 at the Dwight Church Memorial Tournament on Friday night at Church Field.
Coeur d’Alene, 1-1 in the tourney, did all its damage in the seventh with two out.
Holecek and Jack Pierce drew walks, and a wild pitch moved them up to second and third. Kyle Johnson was intentionally walked, and Usdrowski grounded a single up the middle to win the game.
Usdrowski finished 3 for 5 with four RBIs for the Lums, who trailed 4-0 heading into the bottom of the third. Usdrowski delivered a two-run single in the third to pull Coeur d’Alene within 4-2.
Asa Morton’s RBI single in the fifth tied the game at 4. Usdrowski hit an RBI double in the sixth, and scored on Deacon Hunter’s double to tie it at 6.
Johnson went 3 for 4 and scored twice for the Lums.
Coeur d’Alene (7-7) plays RCA 18U Green (4-3-1) today at 8 a.m. at Church Field.
