LEGION BASEBALL: Lums split to conclude play in Church tournament

LEWISTON — Asa Morton singled to score Tanner Franklin with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen held off the Tri-City Titans of Kennewick 6-4 in a consolation game in the Dwight Church Memorial Tournament on Saturday at Church Field.
Hunter Avriett scored on a wild pitch and Morton scored on a passed ball later in the fourth to give Coeur d’Alene a 6-2 lead.
Against RCA 18U Green of Kennewick, Kyle Johnson and Aven Adams had three RBIs each for the Lumbermen, who allowed seven runs in the bottom of the seventh in a 10-9 loss.
Coeur d’Alene (8-8), which went 2-2 at the tourney, hosts the Eugene Challengers in a doubleheader at Thorco Field on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

SPIRIT LAKE — Eric Wylie hit a bases-clearing triple in a six-run bottom of the second inning for Northern Lakes, which beat the Lewis-Clark Cubs in a Single-A North Idaho League game at John Shaffer Field.
Jace Cooksey had an RBI double in the second for Northern Lakes in the first game, a league game.
In the second game, Jace Taylor singled to score Griffin Tamangi to make it 10-8 in the bottom of the seventh, but the Mountaineers were unable to push across the tying run in a nonleague loss.
Northern Lakes (8-1, 5-0 NIL) hosts St. Maries in a doubleheader today starting at noon.
