LEGION BASEBALL: Lakers split doubleheader with Cheney
MAX OSWALD | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 6 months, 1 week AGO
I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. I want to work with every athlete, parent, coach, administrator and the community to ensure the best stories are published. | June 17, 2025 1:00 AM

CHENEY — Clark Fork's Arrow Cramer, Sandpoint's Noah Langlois, and Priest River High rising sophomore Karsen Garvin all had two hits each as the Lakers cruised to an 8-run victory over the Summer Hawks in the opener of a Spokane American Legion 'A' doubleheader Saturday at Cheney High.
North Idaho wasted no time, putting up an 8-spot in the first frame after reaching base in 10 consecutive at-bats. During the rally, Garvin, Langlois, and Asher and Tayden Cramer, also of Clark Fork, smashed RBI singles.
Leading 8-2 heading into the top of the third, Garvin and Langlois hit RBI singles again, as did Drake Burk, and the Lakers found themselves ahead 13-2 heading into the bottom half of the inning.
On the mound, Erik Hansen grabbed the win, striking out four batters over two innings of work. Arrow Cramer struck out six batters over two frames in relief and Garvin fanned all three of the batters he faced in the final frame to propel North Idaho to the win.
