POST FALLS — Post Falls parade organizers are looking to pump up participation at this year’s parade slated for Saturday, July 12.

Val Wilcox is inviting residents in community organizations, members of the military, sports teams, dance schools and businesses to join in the fun.

“We want more people to share the hometown spirit of Post Falls,” Wilcox said.

This year has been difficult to nail down groups to appear in the parade in advance and organizers have only received a handful of applications so far, she said.

There were 60 entries in last year's parade.

Wilcox encouraged those who haven’t attended the parade before to join in the party and take part in one of the biggest events of the year.

“It’s pretty crazy, but it’s a good time,” Wilcox said.

The tradition unites families, neighbors and visitors as part of the three-day Post Falls Festival from July 11-13.

“People have been asking, ‘is it too late to be in the parade?’ Well no, it’s not too late,” Wilcox said. “It’s important that people know we have two more weeks.”

The deadline to sign up to be in the parade is July 3.

The parade route goes through Seltice Way between Frederick Street and Idaho Road.

To sign up to participate or for more information, call 208-691-4675.

Any interested volunteers for the coordination on parade day are asked to contact the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce at [email protected].
