ALL-IDAHO BASEBALL: Cd'A's Helms named to 6A first team

Coeur d’Alene junior first baseman Gavin Helms was named to the 6A first team as the All-Idaho high school baseball teams were announced this week by The Idaho Statesman newspaper of Boise. 

Helms, the 6A IEL MVP, hit .525 with five home runs and 35 RBIs for the Vikings. 

Lake City senior infielder Travis Usdrowski and Coeur d’Alene senior center fielder/pitcher Kolbe Coey were each named to the 6A second team. 

Timberlake junior pitcher/third baseman Eric Wylie was named to the 4A second team. 

Moscow senior catcher Tyson Izzo and senior pitcher Butch Kiblen was named to the 5A first team. 

Moscow senior pitcher/right fielder Connor Isakson made the 5A second team. 

Orofino senior center fielder/pitcher Aiden Olive, Grangeville senior shortstop/pitcher David Goicoa and Orofino junior shortstop/pitcher Jaeger Tondevold were each named to the 3A first team. 

Named to the 3A second team were Orofino junior third baseman/pitcher Quinton Naranjo, Orofino sophomore second baseman/pitcher Blake Barlow, Grangeville senior second baseman/pitcher J.T. Jackson and Grangeville senior catcher/pitcher Thayn Williams. 

Coaches in each classification vote and select their all-state teams. The Idaho Statesman publishes the results.
