LEGION BASEBALL: Lums win again at Palouse tourney

COLFAX, Wash. — Andy Everson went 3 for 4 and pitched six strong innings as the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen “AA” beat Elevate Northwest 18U 7-3 on Friday in its second game of the Palouse Summer Series at McDonald Park.
Everson scattered seven hits and allowed three runs over six innings for Coeur d’Alene (10-10), which is 2-0 in the tourney.
Mark Holecek went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored for the Lums.
Aven Adams delivered a two-run double as part of a four-run third inning that put Coeur d’Alene up 5-2. Kyle Johnson was 2 for 3 with an RBI double in the fourth, and two runs scored. Deacon Hunter drove in three runs, one on a sixth-inning double.
Coeur d’Alene is scheduled to play Reality Sports 18U today at 1 p.m. at McDonald Park, then play Baden Upperclass 18U tonight at 6 at Bailey-Brayton Field in Pullman.

Prairie drops to 1-1-1 at Omaha tourney
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — The Prairie Cardinals 17U squad was held to two hits in a 6-1 loss to the Flames Baseball Club AA 17U in its third game of the Pathway Omaha Tournament at Iowa Western Community College.
Logenn Storr singled in G. Stinson in the fifth inning for the lone run of the game for Prairie (10-5-1), which finished third in its four-team pool with a 1-1-1 record.
Following a day off today, action resumes Sunday with Prairie playing a team to be determined in Council Bluffs.

Northern Lakes drops two to open Bozeman tourney
BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Mountaineers “A” squad lost 10-9 to the Missoula Mavericks and fell 14-4 to the Kalispell Lakers on the first day of the Howard Rein Memorial Tournament.
Against Missoula, Northern Lakes jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning, sparked by a two-run double by Jace Cooksey and RBI singles from Ethan Pecor and Jake Larcher.
But the Mavericks won it with two out in the bottom of the sixth on a walk-off RBI single by Uriah Johnson.
Tadhg Ellwood was 3 for 4 with a two-run single in the fourth inning for the Mountaineers. Ethan Pecor was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Against Kalispell, Cooper Lenz went 2 for 2 with a triple and double and two runs scored for Northern Lakes (10-3).
Northern Lakes plays the Helena Reps and the Pocatello Rebels today as round-robin play in the seven-team tourney continues.
