Lenora Mae Mumma, 90
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 months AGO
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Lenora Mae Mumma, on June 2, 2025, at age 90. Lenora was born in Bountiful, Utah, on Oct. 7, 1934, and was a member of the LDS Church.
Mom moved to California with her two sons in the early '60s. Mom had many different jobs through the years. She worked as a hospital switchboard operator, waitress, doctor’s office secretary, diet center counselor, homecare person and had a gift store in downtown Woodland, Calif. Mom was a very talented lady and anything she touched would turn into a piece of art. Through the years, she made flower arrangements to sell at the Roseville Flea Market and Auction to make extra money on the weekends. Then got into decoupage to sell at the auction.
That is where she met Raymond Mumma, with whom she had 40 loving years. They loved camping, cruises and just traveling all over. Together, they moved to Hayden, Idaho, in 2003, where they lived until Dad passed in 2012. Mom then moved to Post Falls, Idaho, where she put her talent to work making a collection of beautiful peacocks. She would take a figure and turn it into a work of art. Mom always liked to stay busy doing something creative.
Her favorite thing to do was shopping at garage sales and thrift stores. Mom loved clothes, and when she went out, everything she wore matched.
Mom is survived by her son, Gordon Mumma, and wife Cindy, of Post Falls, Idaho; son Joe Ruga, and wife Margi, of Yuba City, Calif.; sister Sherri Hill, of Roseville, Calif.; also, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom will be missed by family and friends who knew her.
Mom’s service was held June 12, 2025, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
We would like to say thank you to Yates Funeral Home for their excellent handling of Mom’s services, and to all who attended; thank you for all your kind words. Please visit Lenora’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
