BOISE — The Sting SC 09 boys Academy soccer team tied Downtown LA, a Cal South team, 2-2 in its first game at the U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Regionals.
Ethan Luna scored the first goal in the first half for the Sting, with an assist from Payson Shaw. Downtown LA tied it just before halftime.
Early in the second half, Pax Longanecker scored a second goal for the Sting. Downtown LA tied it up again late in the second half.
The Sting team will battle a Utah team this morning at 7:20 PDT in day two of group stage play.
