LEGION BASEBALL: Usdrowski helps lift Lums into semis in Palouse Summer Series

Travis Usdrowski went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen, who beat Baden Upperclass 5-4 at Bailey-Brayton Field in Pullman on Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the Palouse Summer Series. 

Coeur d’Alene (12-10), which finished pool play 4-0, will face Moundtime Baseball, the winner of the Brayton pool in a semifinal game today at Bailey-Brayton Field at 12:30 p.m., with the championship game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Bailey-Brayton Field.

Mark Holecek had four hits and two RBIs for the Lumbermen in a 10-6 win over Reality Sports 18U earlier on Saturday at McDonald Park in Colfax. Kasen Noffke and Tanner Franklin each had two RBIs for Coeur d’Alene against Reality Sports.

Northern Lakes takes two 

In Bozeman tourney 


BOZEMAN, Mont. — Jace Taylor struck out seven, allowing only a second- and fifth-inning walk for Northern Lakes in an 8-0 win over the Helena Reps in the Howard Rein Memorial Tournament at Heroes Park at Legion Field. 

Cooper Lenz hit a three-run triple in the top of the fifth inning, and finished with five RBIs for Northern Lakes. Griffin Tamangi and Taylor scored two runs each in the win. 

Against Pocatello, Ethan Pecor hit a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning for Northern Lakes in an 8-5 win over the Rebels. Jace Cooksey and Grant Allaway had two RBIs each for Northern Lakes (12-3), which is 2-2 in the tournament. 

Northern Lakes will face the Kalispell Lakers today at 10:30 a.m. PDT.
