Former Sandpoint resident E. Jane Clapp, CPA was recently appointed vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer at Assumption University.
Clapp joined the university community as a member of the President’s Cabinet on Jan. 2.
“I am excited to welcome Jane Clapp to the Assumption community as our chief financial officer,” said Assumption University President Greg Weiner. “As controller at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Jane oversaw a variety of departments, implementing important institution-wide improvements, showing her dedication to strategic institutional growth."
The university president said he is eager to work with Clapp to help Assumption grow and bring Thrive, its 10-year strategic plan, to fruition.
Clapp joins Assumption from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she has served as controller and chief accounting officer since May 2022. In this role, she led critical initiatives in capital planning, debt management, and endowment growth, managing substantial university assets and expenditures. Her leadership was instrumental in increasing revenue and enhancing student services, including the negotiation of strategic real estate acquisitions that align with future campus housing goals.
Known for her collaborative leadership, she has managed multiple operational areas and played a pivotal role in financial oversight, working closely with WPI’s Board of Trustees to support sustainable growth and innovation. Previously, Clapp served as treasurer at Boise State University.
Clapp is a certified public accountant, with a bachelor of business administration in accounting and a graduate certificate in public administration, both from Boise State University. She is currently a candidate for her Master of Business Administration from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
“I am honored to join President Weiner and his team at Assumption University as we embrace a future guided by distinction and purpose,” said Clapp. “I am excited to help support Assumption’s growth as a premier institution where students are empowered to lead meaningful lives that include rewarding careers.”
Clapp, who is the granddaughter of Dale and Nancy Coffelt, attended local Bonner County schools graduating from SHS in 2001 and graduated from Boise State University.
